LETTER: Why are the Jan. 6 events portrayed as an insurrection?

Letter to the editor

I see Associated Press writers continue to play the Jan. 6 hearings as truth — when the statements are only their opinion, or viewpoint, of the events that occurred. I am disappointed to see that the truth remains absent.

The truth: There was election fraud in the 2020 Presidential Election that elected Joe Biden as president. We can all see now that he is not much of a president — he is making all bad decisions concerning the country and is not representing the country well at all.

Just because the attorney general at the time said he believes the election was valid doesn’t mean it was. Just because several judges ruled against election fraud claims doesn’t mean the election was valid. Can you say “politics”? Do politics ever come into play in a presidential election? Absolutely — and they did, more than in any other election in history.

I’m tired of hearing and seeing that the people who went to Washington, D.C., that day were violent, extremists, insurrectionists, and generally bad people. They were not. They were only protesting the results of the election and were upset about it.

Trump was also upset, as you might imagine, and encouraged people to do something about it. The facts have shown that no real damage was done on that day and the vote verification was allowed to continue in Congress.

Why does the Associated Press and the mainstream media continue to play the Jan. 6 events as evil and an insurrection?
