LETTER: Who is detached from reality?

Letter to the editor

It’s hard not to hear what is going on in Washington, D.C., right now — especially the “January 6th Hearings.” It is being said that former President Donald Trump is “detached from reality” concerning his assertion that the 2020 Presidential Election was stolen.

Well, it is the liberals/Democrats who are detached. They quote other people and reference their own skewed statistics instead of thinking for themselves about what really happened in that election. Many people don’t want to face the real truth — they want to believe their own version of the truth and go along with the liberal (Washington, D.C., Hollywood, and mainstream media) mentality of denying what really happened.

We tend to listen to everyone else’s opinion, and some opinions more than others, rather than taking the time to think and evaluate what we have seen and/or heard. We should be willing, however, to listen to friends who we know and trust — ones who have the same life goals and beliefs that we do; nevertheless we still have to do our own thinking and make our own conclusions.

There is so much “information” out there today that we don’t know what to believe. And people who just want to go along, or get along, don’t care if it’s really true or not. My beliefs are rooted in the Bible and what God says the truth is. His truth never changes.

I encourage whoever reads this to continue to search for the truth, and, when you find it, stick with it. Don’t ever leave it. Don’t ever compromise what you know is right. If you do, it will certainly make you a weaker person.
